The fun to be had with a microphone, a group of friends and a soundtrack of 1980s classics knows no bounds. And as any fan of Karaoke in London will tell you, Lucky Voice on Soho’s Poland Street is the place to head.
Now the people behind Lucky Voice (notably Martha Lane Fox, the young tycoon who set up lastminute.com) have gone a step further in their bid to spread karaoke beyond Poland Street. The Party Box is a portable mixer and microphone that you plug into your computer. Then you create a playlist on luckyvoice.com, turn up the speakers and sing to your heart’s content. The pink microphone, designed by London-based product desginers Kiwi&Pom might not be to everyone's taste but the opportunity to belt out a ballad is surely up everyone's street.
