In the world of mobile broadband there are two things that matter most: speed and size (we're busy and we like travelling light).
With that in mind the clever people at Vodafone have developed a brilliant device that ticks both boxes - the new USB Modem Stick, released in January.
In plain speak it's a lightweight, compact bit of plastic (it looks a lot like a mini USB storage drive) that plugs into your laptop's USB port and within seconds has you connected to Vodafone's superfast broadband network.
No wires, cables, or boxes required, and download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps (14 times faster than the original 3G service launched in 2004). Perfect for getting work done on the go.
The device is compatible with Windows XP and Vista as well as Mac OSX, and is available on Vodafone's £15 Mobile Broadband flat rate plan, where for just £15 a month you get 3GB of data - enough to surf for 100 hours, send 2,000 e-mails, and download 200 tunes and 100 short video clips.
