Optimus Maximus keyboard Technology

Optimus Maximus keyboard

For those of us for whom linguistic barriers have presented no hindrance to our global operations, it’s often the case that our multilingual tongues have come a cropper when trying to write an e-mail. Where does one convert the Roman alphabet to Arabic or even Spanish?

Well help is, literally, at hand with an ingenious invention by the Russian design studio Art Lebedev, who has developed an incredible keyboard answering our every need. Each key has its very own LED display, showing its function at any given time. What this means is that should you wish to type in Japanese, you can install a program that changes the display on each individual key of your keyboard to bring up the Japanese alphabet in place of the Roman one.

Not only is this infinitely easier than having a stack of different keyboards for each language you might speak, but the design itself is incredibly streamline. The buttons are easily removable and replaceable for cleaning purposes and because the screens embedded in each key are motionless, it is only the plastic shell that suffers the wear and tear of frantic tapping.
